Leawood, KS – February 28, 2022: The State of Washington has introduced House Bill 1352 (HB 1352) which will establish a task force to increase public awareness and access to unclaimed property. HB 1352 was first introduced on January 10, 2022 and currently resides in the House Finance Committee.
Pursuant to HB 1352, the task force shall be chaired by the State Treasurer and shall review issues regarding how to (i) increase public awareness and notice of unclaimed property and (ii) improve public access and remove barriers for the public to claim unclaimed property. The task force will report its findings and recommendations to the governor and the appropriate committees of the legislature by January 1, 2023.
