Financial Accounting Standard No.5 was issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board to address the Accounting for Contingencies. FAS No. 5 was superseded by the FASB Accounting Standards Codification subtopic 450-20, Contingencies: Loss Contingencies. In addition, all FASB Statements of Financial Accounting Standards were superseded by the Accounting Standards Codification in 2009.
