Leawood, Kan. – June 17, 2026: Last week the Arizona Department of Revenue sent out a request that holders submit a data only unclaimed property notification report (“Notification Report” or “Preliminary Report”) by July 4, 2026. Arizona indicated that the Notification Report should not be accompanied by any funds or remittance. Further, it noted that the Preliminary Report would not relieve the holder of the obligation to send out unclaimed property due diligence notices or complete the annual unclaimed property filing and remittance that is due on or before November 1, 2026.
The Arizona Department of Revenue also published a bulletin on its website regarding the Notification Report. On that website, the Arizona Department of Revenue indicated that the Notification Report or the Preliminary Report is not mandatory.
